This offer is mandated under the "Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) which requires each credit bureau to provide you this report once every 12 months. You get this free report from Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. This report is ideal if you only want your credit report, and nothing else. This report does not come with any type of credit monitoring, credit score, FICO score, or identity theft protection. This is a great service since it is absolutely FREE with no strings attached.

Downside

The main issue we have with this report is you don’t get your estimated credit scores. We believe you need to know what your credit score is. You also only get this report once a year for FREE. Anything can happen during this time, like Identity Theft. We also don’t like that FACT you don’t get any type of Identity Theft protection. With Identity Theft being the fastest growing crime in America, we believe this is a big drawback to this service. Not getting your credit scores a-lone is probably the single biggest drawback with annualcreditreport.com.
